Our Story

Over two decades ago, Dennis, an adventurous soul from Washington D.C., met Adriana, a Colombian native from Manizales. Their shared love for Colombia's beautiful landscapes and vibrant culture inspired them to return to Adriana's homeland after raising their family in the United States.

Drawn to the breathtaking Rio Blanco Reserve, Dennis and Adriana found themselves dreaming of owning a piece of this natural haven. Their dream became a reality, and what began as a personal retreat soon sparked interest among their friends and family. This led to a transformative idea: an ecolodge that would share the splendor of the Rio Blanco Reserve with the world.

Today, their mountain retreat offers an immersive nature experience in Colombia, marked by first-class service and a deep commitment to personal attention.

Join us, and let us share the enchanting beauty of the Rio Blanco Reserve. Become part of our story, where every visit is a new adventure and a chance to write the next chapter.

Why the name Owl's Watch?

When we first arrived at the mountain, there was nothing but forests and empty pastures. Dennis went camping with his son Blake and while they cooked s'mores over the fire, an owl perched overhead in a tree and kept watch. The idea of a night watch run by the Owls to keep us safe on the mountain was born.
